StoryPilot ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the StoryPilot mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text).
Location Data: With your permission, we collect your device's GPS coordinates to discover nearby story locations and enable the auto-play feature. Location data is processed in real-time and is not stored on our servers beyond what's needed to provide the service.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the app, including stories played, favorites saved, and listening history, to improve your experience.
Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system, and app version for troubleshooting and analytics.
Pre-Launch Signups: If you register for early access, we collect your email address to send launch updates.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To deliver location-based audio stories
- To process subscription purchases through the applicable app marketplace
- To process eSIM data purchases
- To send product updates and launch notifications (with your consent)
- To respond to support requests
3. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate StoryPilot, including providers for payment processing, subscription management, cloud infrastructure, content generation, and eSIM provisioning. Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We select partners that maintain industry-standard security practices and comply with applicable data protection regulations.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request account deletion at any time by contacting us at discover@storypilot.io. Pre-launch signup emails are retained until launch, after which you can unsubscribe.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and secure authentication tokens. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you

7. Children's Privacy
StoryPilot is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
